How to find your social media usernames.

Your username (also called handle) is what comes after @ or after the slash in a profile URL. It's NOT the same as your display name. This guide shows you exactly where to find it on each of the 6 platforms KScore Personal supports.

Quick rules that apply to all platforms

  • A username NEVER has spaces. If your display name has a space (e.g. "Jane Doe"), your username will be different (e.g. janedoe or jane.doe or jane-doe).
  • You can paste the full profile URL — the scan strips https://platform.com/ automatically.
  • Private profiles return limited data. Set your profile to public for the most accurate score (you can switch back after the scan).
  • If the scan can't find your handle, you typed it wrong. Use the "Open profile" arrow next to the input to verify before submitting.

Instagram

Instagram username is the lowercase string after @, shown right below your photo on your profile.

On the Instagram mobile app

  1. Open the Instagram app and tap your profile icon (bottom right).
  2. Look directly below your profile photo. The text shown right after the @ symbol is your username.
  3. Tap and hold to copy it, or just type it manually into the KScore form.

On the web (instagram.com)

  1. Open instagram.com and log in.
  2. Click your profile photo in the top right.
  3. Look at the browser URL — instagram.com/yourusername. Whatever comes after the slash is your username.

Common mistakes

  • Typing your full name with spaces. Instagram usernames never have spaces.
  • Including the @ symbol — that's fine, the scan removes it automatically, but you can leave it out.

TikTok

TikTok handle is the @ string shown under your name on your profile.

On the TikTok mobile app

  1. Open TikTok and tap Profile / Me at the bottom right.
  2. Below your profile photo you'll see your name (display name) and below that a smaller @handle.
  3. The @handle is what we need. Copy that — not your display name.

On tiktok.com

  1. Open tiktok.com and log in.
  2. Click your profile in the top right.
  3. Look at the URL — tiktok.com/@yourhandle. That's what you copy.

Common mistakes

  • Using your display name. TikTok lets you set a fancy display name that's different from your @handle.
  • TikTok handles never have spaces, even if your display name does.
[03] PLATFORM · LINKEDIN

LinkedIn

LinkedIn vanity slug is the piece of your profile URL that comes right after /in/. It usually uses dashes between words.

On the LinkedIn mobile app

  1. Open the LinkedIn app and tap your profile photo (top left).
  2. Tap View Profile.
  3. Tap the share icon (three dots → Share via → Copy link to profile), OR scroll to Contact Info — your public profile URL is there.
  4. The URL looks like linkedin.com/in/your-vanity-slug. The part after /in/ is what you need.

On linkedin.com

  1. Open linkedin.com and log in.
  2. Click Me (top right) → View Profile.
  3. Look at your browser address bar. URL is linkedin.com/in/your-vanity-slug.
  4. Copy everything after /in/ — that's your slug.

Common mistakes

  • Typing your full name with spaces (e.g. "Jane Doe") — LinkedIn slugs use dashes instead of spaces.
  • Copying the full URL including https://www.linkedin.com/in/ — that's OK, our scan strips it, but you can also just type the slug.
  • Confusing your slug with your display name. The display name can change anytime; the slug is fixed (unless you edit it in profile settings).
[04] PLATFORM · YOUTUBE

YouTube

YouTube handle is the @ string YouTube assigned to your channel (introduced in 2022). All accounts have one.

On the YouTube mobile app

  1. Open YouTube and tap your profile photo (top right) → Your channel.
  2. Below your channel name you'll see your handle starting with @.
  3. Copy the part after @ (or leave the @ — the scan handles both).

On youtube.com

  1. Open youtube.com and log in.
  2. Click your profile icon → Your channel.
  3. Look at the URL — youtube.com/@yourhandle. The string after @ is what you need.

Common mistakes

  • Using a custom URL (youtube.com/c/SomeName) from before 2022 — the @handle is preferred now.
  • Using channel ID (youtube.com/channel/UCxxxx) — those long IDs won't work, use the @handle instead.

Facebook

Facebook username is the path after facebook.com/ in your profile URL. For Facebook Pages it's set during page creation; for personal profiles, you can set it in Settings.

On the Facebook mobile app

  1. Open Facebook and tap the hamburger menu (≡) at the bottom right.
  2. Tap your name at the top to open your profile.
  3. Tap the three dots (•••) next to your photo → Copy link.
  4. Paste somewhere to see the URL. Format: facebook.com/yourpath. The part after the slash is your username.

On facebook.com

  1. Open facebook.com and log in.
  2. Click your profile in the top right.
  3. Look at the URL — facebook.com/your.username or facebook.com/profile.php?id=...
  4. If it says profile.php?id=... you don't have a vanity username yet. Set one in Settings → Username, or paste the full URL — our scan extracts the ID.

Common mistakes

  • Personal Facebook profiles return limited data compared to Facebook Pages — for the most accurate scan, use a Page if you have one.
  • Display name (with spaces) is not the same as URL username. Always check the URL.
  • Friend-only profiles return very little data. Set the profile to public or use a public Page.
[06] PLATFORM · X (TWITTER)

X (Twitter)

X / Twitter username is the @ string shown under your display name. Always lowercase or mixed case, letters/numbers/underscore only.

On the X mobile app

  1. Open the X app and tap your profile photo (top left or via menu).
  2. Below your display name you'll see @yourusername.
  3. Copy the part after @.

On x.com / twitter.com

  1. Open x.com and log in.
  2. Click Profile in the left sidebar.
  3. Look at the URL — x.com/yourusername. That's your handle.

Common mistakes

  • X usernames have a 15-character limit. Display names can be longer — those won't work as a handle.
  • Underscore (_) is allowed, dash (-) is NOT. Letters and numbers only otherwise.
